The VSA Scholarship is set up to recognize Vermont swimmers for their accomplishments within the sport of swimming. Scholarships will be awarded to swimmers who have displayed the greatest dedication and excellence within the sport. In addition, to be eligible for the award, an applicant needs to be scheduled to attend his/her freshman year of college in the fall of 2011 and be currently swimming on a VSA team in the summer of 2011.
The VSA has set aside $1,800 for scholarship awards. Depending on the number of worthy candidates, this may mean several large or multiple small scholarship amounts. A committee comprised of three VSA representatives, one from each of the three geographical areas of Vermont swimming, plus a chair, will review applications and choose the recipients.
For more information, please contact Gary Osborne, 802-244-8175 or ghovt@aol.com.
